Ex-Benue Speaker Dajoh Breaks Silence Over His Resignation

Former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh, has sued for peace in the state following his resignation from office.

Dajoh, who stepped down on Sunday after reports of an impeachment plot against him, said he had accepted the development in good faith and was focused on moving forward.

In a message posted on his social media pages on Monday, the lawmaker thanked supporters and colleagues for standing by him during his tenure.

“I have moved on. I want to specially appreciate my constituents of Gboko West (Gbemacha) that first voted for me as a member of the 10th Benue Assembly. I am eternally grateful to them,” Dajoh wrote on Facebook

The former Speaker expressed gratitude to Governor Hyacinth Alia, members of the Assembly, and his aides for their contributions.

“I appreciate my dear colleagues who voted me in as the first Speaker of the 10th Assembly and gave me the needed support to the very last day in office.

“My heartfelt appreciation also goes to the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for his support from the beginning of my being the Speaker to my exit.

“May I say a big thank you to my aides who were always there in helping me run the office. You guys are great and wonderful. I appreciate the staff of the Assembly too. Your technical support is well appreciated,” he said.

Dajoh also paid tribute to his wife, Kundumiyol Dajoh, describing her as the best example of a supportive wife.

He extended thanks to his family members and well-wishers for their unwavering encouragement.

“Finally, and above all, my thanks go to the Almighty God, the maker and giver of all things. I thank you, God, for the good health, wisdom, and grace. May your name be praised both now and forever,” he added.

Closing his message, Dajoh called for reconciliation and unity in the state.

“Let there be peace and let’s move on. The journey is still ahead,” the former Speaker said.
